Dr Theodora Tsikrika, participated in a panel discussion on Artificial Intelligence in the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Brussels organized in thte context of SMI2G (the Security Mission Information & Innovation Group). The panel discussion was chaired by Nada Milisavljevic (DG HOME) and the following questions were discussed:
-What are the opportunities of AI solutions for LEAs?
-What are the risks of AI technologies for LEAs as well as for society?
-Is the European industry able to provide competitive AI solutions for LEAs?
-Will it be a chance or a burden to develop human centred AI solutions or explainable AI (XAI) solutions?
As in previous years, (SMI2G) organized this two-day event in Brussels to discuss on the upcoming 2020 Secure Societies calls of Horizon 2020. This brokerage event provided a unique networking platform to stimulate innovative ideas and facilitate the creation of consortia. All Secure Societies topics were represented. The event was a great success with over 400 participants.
