The French Ministry of Interior (Ministère de l´Intérieur - MININT) is at the heart of the State's action throughout the country to serve the French people’s needs and meet their expectations in the area of safety and security, but also governance to promote a coherent model made up of institutions, electoral system, decentralization and administrative and territorial organization. The Ministry of Interior ensures that local public law enforcement services are able to carry their missions of safeguarding both people and property and managing emergencies. Safeguarding the rights of our citizens means ensuring their security and protection against crime day after day.

The French National Gendarmerie is one of the oldest French institutions and the oldest police force in France. It is responsible for the maintenance of law and order as well as judiciary and military police. The institution counts with a force of 103.121 man and women spread all over the French territory and abroad, in external operations. National Gendarmerie counts with high-level personnel over different domains such as criminal investigations, forensic analysis, intervention, cyber criminality and criminal intelligence.

The Central Service of Criminal Intelligence (Service Central de Renseignement Criminel – SCRC) is among these high-level units. SCRC is a reference in the criminal analysis. From the SCRC will be participating in this project the Intelligence Division and the Data Science Department (DSD). Both specialized in criminal data analysis and on the development of applications for law enforcement.
