June 7-8, 2021
The Closing Event of the LION DC project took place online on June 7-8, 2021. On the first day, the LION DC project outcomes were presented, including the definition of the online drug crime phenomena, an assessment of LEAs' needs in this domain, the newly developed investigation methods, as well as the LION DC uptake, outreach, and sustainability. Overall, the LION DC project focused mainly on developing methods and tools that further assist Law Enforcement Agencies in the fight against online drug crimes.
The second day of the event was dedicated to promoting collaboration among EU funded projects of similar interest. To this end, the results achieved by the CONNEXIONs project thus far were presented, highlighting the technological developments in different aspects (such as gathering intelligence from various online sources, analysing evidence from heterogeneous data, managing LEAs' operations in real-time, and performing investigative hypothesis simulations) in an effort to further improve the investigation and training capabilities of LEA officers.
